The Challenge

In New York City where every neighborhood has established veterinary practices, breaking through with a fundamentally new offering was a major challenge. Especially given we needed to grow at a rate dramatically higher than traditional, privately owned practices.

This required precision targeting, resonant creative campaigns, reliable attribution data and the ability to optimize in real-time to changes in campaign performance.

The Solution

With the challenges clearly defined, we built a growth strategy that was informed by key business economics (acceptable acquisition costs, understanding of lifetime value) and good data about our target customers. Over the course of 24 months our team delivered 650% growth in monthly recurring revenue (MRR), a 42% improvement in average retention by cohort and supported a successful $20M Series A from top investors. Small Door is now scaling across New York City, Boston and Washington, D.C.
